Vacancy: Chief Executive Officer

Falklands Conservation (FC) is looking for a Chief Executive Officer to lead a team of committed staff and volunteers in addressing strategic plan and developing and implementing annual work plans and operational budgets.  As the senior staff member, the CEO is responsible to the Trustees for the overall performance and efficient management of the charity and its activities.  

FC is a membership-based organisation, registered charity and BirdLife International Partner at the forefront of biodiversity conservation in the Falkland Islands.

The holder of this full-time post based in the Falkland Islands will ensure: sound finances; direct all conservation actions and research programmes; broaden the fundraising base; and lead FC’s engagement with a wide range of organisations and individuals locally, regionally and internationally.

The successful candidate will be offered:
·         A unique opportunity to design and implement innovative conservation programmes across all sectors of the Falkland Islands.
·         A salary of £36,000-£45,000 (dependent on experience).
·         An annual holiday entitlement of 30 working days per annum plus bank holidays.

The skills and experience needed to carry out the CEO duties are typically gained through senior management of a charity or comparable organisation, together with all-round communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated success in

CFA Opportunity: RedLAC seeks consultants for Resources Mobilization workshop

RedLAC extended the deadline of its call for proposals to carry out the 9th RedLAC Capacity Building Workshop on Resources Mobilization for Environmental Funds. The workshop will take place in Costa Rica, on November 1st to 3rd, 2013 and will present a practical focus and case studies.

The specialist should have experience in capacity building practices and knowledge of the workshop topics. It is also important to know how EFs operate, preferably with experience working with Funds.

Consultants interested in the project should check the detailed Terms of Reference and send a proposal, specifying the approach to be taken and cost details, with CV attached, to Camila Monteiro no later than June 28th, 2013.

COMPANY PROFILE

Indigenous Supply Chain Management Company with offices in Lagos and Port-Harcourt requires the services of an experienced Asst. Service Delivery Manager. The required individual will support the Service Delivery Manager to manage the customer service delivery for the successful provision of logistics and supply chain management services to the companies’ clients which include International Oil & Gas, Energy, Telecommunications and Blue Chip FMCG Companies in Nigeria.

This position will report to the Service Delivery Manager. The Service Delivery team is the "centrepiece" to support the company’s enhanced value proposition for providing increased value to our Customers through the Supply Chain and make it easier to do business with us. The asst. SDM position will result in significant performance improvements on our customer scorecards and strengthen our customer relationships and ultimately translating into increased revenue.

Job Description:

  • Review performance relative to customer expectations to measure performance compared to expectations previously outlined by the customer and us.

  • Responsible for overseeing Supply Chain/Service Delivery Initiatives for the Mass Market with major focus on our Customer’s.

  • Develop an annual Customer Supply Chain/Service Delivery Plan and lead implementation efforts with other operations staff.

  • Plan, coordinate and lead Customer-driven Supply Chain improvement efforts with the aim of achieving cost saving and operational efficiencies throughout the supply chain.

  • Analyze impact of Service Delivery changes (such as fees, dues and charges) and participate in Customer negotiations for allowances.

  • Act as liaison and manage the demand forecasting process between the customer and the Business Development unit.

  • Coordinate all Supply Chain communication between the Customer and us and proactively educate SBUs about critical customer requirements.

  • Participate as a core team member of the Service Delivery Unit including participation in weekly meetings and Quarterly Customer reviews.

  • Develop strong relationships with customer supply chains personnel and act as the single point of contact to the Customer on all critical Service Delivery communication.


JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Graduate with at least three years experience in Supply Chain Management, Planning, Forecasting, Operations, Distribution, Customer Service

  • Project Management Experience Preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to translate the company’s vision into a service delivery plan, as well as hands on approach to succeed in a demanding environment.

  • Strong customer-facing skills and a passion for service excellence

  • Proven people management skills and the ability to show commitment to leading and developing your team (experience of appraisals, training and management of team performance)

Partner Development Officer (West Africa)

Internationally, the RSPB supports local partners to implement successful conservation programmes and ultimately achieve self-sufficiency. The purpose is to co-ordinate the RSPB's BirdLife partner development programme in West Africa initially in Sierra Leone and Nigeria. This includes partner support, organisational capacity building, fundraising, project management, and advocacy. You will need to have experience of the region and work experience in NGOs and organisational development. You must be able to work under minimum supervision and have excellent diplomatic, communication and negotiation skills. You will be expected to spend a significant number of nights and weekends overseas each year, the majority of which will be unaccompanied.
